Imagery of Shikumen Hits the Stage
Clink, clank, jingle, jangle – a range of cooking utensils will take to the stage starting August 26 to produce newfangled, beautiful percussion music for the sing-and-dance show Imagery of Shikumen produced by Jinhui Art.

Imagery of Shikumen tells the story of two young things who dreamt of being transported back into the 1930's in Shanghai where their heartwarming love played out amidst many difficulties.

The show explores beyond the established borders of the usual onstage performances, and the percussion music imparts a modernistic and stylish edge to it. Without dialogues, it contains many drama elements, though, telling the story with funky rhythms and beats.

The show is so named to pay tribute to Shikumen which is Shanghai's unique architectural style.

For those who are looking for an onstage taste of the city back in the 1930's, Imagery of Shikumen is truly worth the while.
