  Shanghai Red Tours
Shanghai, as an international metropolis, has many titles under its belt like "one of China's largest economic centers", "shopping paradise" and "Oriental Paris". But Shanghai also stands out as a city with a rich revolutionary tradition and a rich collection of revolutionary sites. It boasts many "firsts" in the history of the CPC – the First National People's Congress of the CPC held to create the Communist Party of China, the first socialist youth organization of China, the first organ of the CPC Central Committee, the earliest CPC-led workers' movement organ, and the first school run by the CPC to develop female cadres. Having been witness to many events in the history of the CPC, Shanghai opens up bright prospects for red tourism. To do justice to the 90th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese Communist Party and the centenary of the Sun Yat-sen's 1911 revolution which ousted feudal China's last dynasty Qing, Shanghai Municipal Tourism Administration has announced the rollout of 10 red tourism routes covering the major revolutionary sites in both Shanghai and other areas of Yangtze River Delta.
