Majestic Princess Made Its Maiden Voyage from China, Yao Ming And Ye Li Named The Vessel
On July 10, Majestic Princess or Shi Sheng Gong Zhu Hao (a Chinese name expressed in roman letters), the first luxury cruise liner customized by Princess Cruises for the Chinese market, arrived in Shanghai and a grand celebration marking the vessel`s maiden voyage from China was held. As the naming ambassadors, Yao Ming and his wife Ye Li attended the ceremony and officially named the vessel, and expressed their best wishes for its debut in China.

Majestic Princess boasts the largest atrium plaza among all the vessels of Princess Cruises` fleet, featuring a number of restaurants, shops and rest zones. Wonderful performances, parties and games are very family-friendly. Princess Cruises is best known in China for its incomparable culinary experiences, and Majestic Princess will provide the best rendition of Princess Cruises` culinary pursuits-Majestic Princess is the only China-based vessel on which the dinner menu is designed by two Michelin star chefs and will please the palates of passengers with both French and Chinese gourmet foods. In addition, "Fantastic Journey", which was produced by Hollywood`s top entertainment team and cost upwards of six million USD, will be screened onboard and leave the audience blown away with its high technologies used, and UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) will be part of the performance for the first time.

Majestic Princess is 330 meters long and weighs 143,000 tons. Its 19 decks are configured with 1,780 guestrooms, over 80% of which have private balconies and all of which are outfitted with Princess Cruises` signature comfy beds. On May 21, Majestic Princess debuted on its "Silk Road on the Sea" itinerary, starting off from Italy`s Rome and arrived at its homeport Shanghai, with 22 ports of call along the way in Athens, Dubai, Cochin, Singapore, Port Klang, Xiamen and Hong Kong. Majestic Princess officially started its first cruising season with its homeport in Shanghai on July 11, 2017 and would carry 3,560 passengers to a number of popular destinations.
